Columbus City Council is the legislative branch of the government of the City of Columbus, Ohio There are nine council members who represent more than 900,000 residents. Each council member represents one of nine city districts. Members are elected to four year terms.

Council is responsible for adopting annual operating and capital budgets, city contracts and enacting the Columbus City Codes. Council also establishes land use policy through its zoning powers.

The council clerk’s office tells us that anyone attending the meeting can park in the garage at 141 N Front St for free. Just let the security guard know that you are attending the meeting and they will let you in. It is a short walk across the greenspace to City Hall.

Street parking may be available. While this meeting starts at 5 p.m. some meters are in operation until 6 p.m.
